About Lists

Microsoft Lists is M365's structured tracking tool — a modern evolution of SharePoint lists, built to give teams a flexible way to record, organise and act on almost anything: assets, issues, requests, inventories, content calendars and project trackers. Lists live inside Teams, SharePoint and the Lists app, with custom views, forms, rules and Power Automate triggers built in.

It's best used anywhere a team is currently tracking work in spreadsheets and hitting version-control issues, or using heavyweight tools for simple processes. Operations, project teams, facilities, marketing, IT and department leads benefit most. Lists solves the problem of scattered tracking spreadsheets — replacing them with a single, shared, permission-controlled source of truth that multiple people can edit safely at once.
