About OneNote

Microsoft OneNote is M365's digital notebook — a flexible, free-form space for structured notes, meeting records, handbooks and team knowledge. Notebooks can be personal, shared with a team or embedded inside SharePoint and Teams, with pages organised into sections, tagged, searched and co-authored in real time.

It's best used for meeting notes, project documentation, SOPs, onboarding handbooks, personal journals and any living document that needs to be edited regularly. L&D, project teams, executive assistants, consultants and anyone running recurring meetings benefit most. OneNote solves the problem of knowledge being trapped in one person's inbox or local files — replacing it with a shared, searchable, permissioned knowledge base that grows with the team instead of walking out when someone leaves.
